8th Annual Masopust 2014
Mark your calendar for March 1, 2014!
RFD-TV's Polka Party hostess Mollie B & SqueezeBox Band will perform at our 8th annual celebration. This year Masoopust will be held at Howard County Iowa Fairgrounds' EXPO Center, 314 W 7th Street, just north of Highway 9 in Cresco, Iowa. Doors open at 11:30 AM. Beside great Mollie B music for polka dancing, there will be a full Czech meal served at 5:45 PM, Czech Skit by our CHP actors, silent & live auctions and more. It's always a fantastic afternoon of entertainment. Make sure to join us again (or the first time) for old-world, pre-Lenten Czech style carnival! CHP guarantees a great time.
Masopust is a traditional Czech Carnival (Mardi Gras Style) before Lent. The Czech Heritage Partnership has organized and sponsored a revival of Masopust in the northeast Iowa region.
